SBA Fall Luncheon
SBA Fall Luncheon!
12:00 – 1:30 pm at the University Club of Santa Barbara.
At the fall luncheon SBA members enjoyed a lively presentation with the dynamic Wilma Melville, founder of the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation, in conversation with Debra Roets, NDSDF Director of Philanthropy. Wilma and Debra were so engaging that we asked for more! A group visit to the Search Dog Foundation training facility in Ojai is in the works for Friday, January 31, 2025. Details and registration information to be shared closer to the date. A very special thank you to Nancy Newquist-Nolan and Rachel Quittner for coordinating the talk and the upcoming visit.
Wilma Melville is a retired Physical Education instructor and grandmother of six, Wilma founded the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation (SDF) to address this gap in our nation’s disaster response network. Still active within the Foundation, Wilma serves on the Board of Directors and is involved with the planning of the National Training Center. When time permits, Wilma enjoys piloting her experimental airplane, an RV7A, based at her hangar at Santa Paula Airport.
